Coordinated the effort to completely redesign (and rethink) this site for the Daily Camera. As a direct result of the redesign and subsequent efforts to publicize it, the site's viewership grew to 12 times it's original size within a year. Since the redesign I have been responsible for creating special online news packages, supervising special projects, and producing new sections.
HISTORY
I was hired at the Daily Camera after 2 of the 3 new media employees had quit. The problem was that a talented programmer had created a production system based on homegrown perl programs, and unfortunately only another talented programmer could maintain that system. Another programmer with the skills necessary to maintain that system was than the newspaper could afford. I was responsible for leading the rethinking of the website, to accomplish the lofty goals of making a better website, that could accomodate more content, be better looking, and could be updated by someone with little more than basic HTML skills.
